The Wisconsin State Patrol identified the fatal victim as a 37-year-old woman from Trenton, Tenn. Washington County Sheriff Martin Schulteis said 20 crashes involving about 100 cars unfolded along an 18-mile stretch of the Interstate shortly before noon Wednesday. As of Thursday morning, law enforcement released details on two specific crash scenes: one near Arthur Road and another near Cedar Creek Road, both located near Slinger. The Arthur Road scene involved about 30 cars, resulting in six people hospitalized and the death of the Tennessee woman, according to the State Patrol. The Cedar Creek scene involved 48 cars and another six people hospitalized with injuries, the Washington County Sheriff s Office said. Another 26 people were treated for injuries at the scene and about 50 stranded motorists had to be transported by Rite Way Bus Service Inc.
