Valentine s Day is Sunday, and whether you re attached or single, there are plenty of things to do in Shawnee. Here are some of them:
1. Go to a fashion show and anti-Valentine s crawl: The Anti-Valentine s Day Black Heart Crawl will take place from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and businesses all over town are joining in the fun. An art show will take place throughout the day at Shawnee Mall. Also at the mall, there will be a Gothic Fashion Show from 2 to 4 p.m., with one runway walk every 45 minutes. Following the fashion show, there will be a speed paint date mixer beginning at 5 p.m. Participants can pay $5 (with half off if they bring a picture of an ex and let the organizers tear it up) to speed paint and mingle with other singles, all while social distancing. Shawnee businesses to participate in Christmas Crawl

Several Shawnee businesses will participate in the second annual and now week-long Christmas Crawl which will kick off Saturday, Dec. 12 from 6-9 p.m. with the Main Street Market at Bayly Botanicals.
According to Shawnee Forward CEO Rachel Melot, the Christmas Crawl will continue until Friday, Dec. 18 and allow shoppers a chance to visit local stores in Shawnee and have their name entered in a raffle.
Melot said every time a shopper purchases an item at participating stores, they can scan a QR code and enter their name in a chance to win a $400 Air B&B gift card, a $150 Visa gift card and a $100 gas card.

Christmas is just around the corner, and there are several things going on around Shawnee to get you in the holiday spirit. Whether giving back to the community, buying crafts, or making your own, here are some of the things to do this weekend.
1. Take part in Claus for a Cause: Some Shawnee businesses have teamed up for Claus for a Cause to benefit a local non-profit. Cuckoo Bird & Dashing T Boutique, located at 1817 N. Harrison in Shawnee, will be accepting toys for a toy drive each day through Sunday. Discounts will be available for each new toy brought in. Rachel Cleere Photography is also participating and will be offering 10-minute time slots for photos with Santa Sunday at the boutique, with packages starting at $40. Eats & Sweets is also donating treats for those attending. All proceeds from the photos will go to Legacy Parenting Center.
