Letter: Brownley has been there for vets

After reading Mr. Nelson’s letter to the editor, I was disgusted.
Since Congresswoman Julia Brownley took office over eight years ago, she and her staff have worked for and on local veteran problems nonstop.
At the time Congresswoman Brownley took office, I was the President of the Vietnam Veterans of Ventura County (VVVC). I made it a point to meet with her and her staff to ensure that local veterans would have her support. As a result, I, along with other officers of the VVVC, have been the eyes and ears for the Congresswoman for local veterans as well as the care they were receiving at the Oxnard Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

California Congresswoman Julia Brownley has announced $6.3 million in federal funding for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects for the Port of Hueneme and Ventura Harbor.
The U.S. Army Corps’ FY2021 Work Plan includes funds for the annual dredging of Ventura Harbor.
The work plan also allocates “donor port” funds for the Port of Hueneme, pursuant to legislation Congresswoman Brownley spearheaded in 2016.
“One of my top priorities in Congress is fighting for the economic vitality of our region,” said Congresswoman Julia Brownley.
