Republicans Of Santa Clarita To Host Fourth Of July Parade Accompanied By Local Leaders
The SCV GOP: The Republicans of Santa Clarita, are set to host a Fourth of July parade Sunday, weaving its way through City neighborhoods accompanied by local representatives.
On Sunday, the parade is expected to start at 1 p.m. from the parking lot of Furniture Now, the old K-Mart location on Valencia Boulevard, according to event organizers.
After hearing that the City of Santa Clarita’s main Fourth of July Parade was going to be canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Republicans of Santa Clarita are doing what they can to still bring patriotism to the Santa Clarita Valley, said Mark Hershey, a member of the group and a 50-year resident and retired Sheriff’s Deputy of Santa Clarita.

Congressman Garcia Reflects Back On Successes, Challenges Of First Year In Office
Congressman Mike Garcia, R-Santa Clarita, reflected back on his first year in office tackling issues from power shut offs to the coronavirus pandemic to the High-Speed Rail Project.
A little over a year ago, on May 19th, 2020, Garcia was sworn into office as the Representative for California’s 25th District, which includes Santa Clarita.
“I want you to know that since coming to Congress, with every vote I’ve taken, every bill I’ve introduced and every issue I’ve fought for; I have always kept the interests of our community, our security and the Constitution at heart,” Garcia said. “While there is still much work to be done, I’d like to take a moment and remind you of some of the work we’ve achieved on behalf of California’s 25th District over the last 12 months.”
