Michigan State Police say a Cadillac Trooper is being treated for minor injures after being hit by a vehicle that was feeling police.
Troopers say around 1 Saturday afternoon, the trooper approached a suspicious vehicle parked in the car wash near Eugene St. and Main St. in Mesick.
We’re told the driver is a Traverse City man and had an open container containing drug paraphernalia and refused to identify himself.
As the trooper continued to speak with the driver, the driver backed out of car wash with his door open while the trooper was standing in the open-door area.

Driver dies in rollover crash, swerved to avoid train in Northern Michigan

CADILLAC, MI – A 44-year-old Michigan man died in a car crash last week when he swerved to avoid hitting a train and instead struck a utility pole, causing the vehicle to roll, police said.
Robin Lee Vandewater, 44, of Cadillac, was ejected from the vehicle; he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the Cadillac Police Department. A female passenger was transported to a Cadillac Munson Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, March 29, on Wright Street west of Bond Street in Cadillac where train tracks cross the road, police said. Cadillac police and fire, and Missaukee County EMS responded to the scene.
