Dwayne The Rock Johnson has had a tough personality for as long as we can remember, and even his throwback high school pictures show him as a muscular guy. However, there used to be a time when he had soft features that led to embarrassing childhood stories.
During a recent appearance on Sunday Today with Willie Geist, the former wrestler confessed that he was often mistaken for a girl growing up, so much so that people even directly asked him his gender. The 49-year-old recalled: I would say between the ages of 7 and 11, people thought that I was a little girl because I had really soft features and I had really soft Afro hair.

“I would say between the ages of 7 and 11, people thought that I was a little girl because I had really soft features and I had really soft Afro hair,”
Dwayne explained.
The actor then recounted one specific moment on a school bus on his first day of fifth grade.
“I sit down next to a kid, and within 60 seconds, he goes, ‘Can I ask you something?’” he said. “I said, ‘Yeah.’ He goes, ‘Are you a boy or a girl?’”
Dwayne also described his childhood as “Forrest Gump-ian” as his father’s career as a professional wrestler meant he was constantly changing schools and moving around while he was growing up.

In the new sitcom “Young Rock,” Dwayne Johnson’s character is a fictionalized version of the actor who campaigns for president in 2032. Johnson said this week, however, that the political run might not be that fictional.
“I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted,” The Rock told USA Today.
He went on, “Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people… So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground.”
Is Dwayne Johnson s new autobiographical NBC sitcom Young Rock any match for his real life?
The former wrestler-turned action movie star, who has topped Forbes list of highest-paid actors for the last two years, mines his upbringing for the new half-hour sitcom debuting Tuesday (8 EST/PST). Three actors portray the pioneer of the People s Eyebrow at different stages of his life: Adrian Groulx (Johnson as a kid living in Hawaii), Bradley Constant (as a teen in Pennsylvania who shoplifted designer goods) and Uli Latukefu (as a University of Miami football player).
Johnson also appears in the series, bookending each episode in mock interviews with a journalist (Randall Park) as he reflects on his life while campaigning for president in 2032.
