Kenai Spur Traffic Stop Nets Second DUI before Driver Serves Time for First One Troopers on patrol near mile 22 of the Kenai Spur Highway on Wednesday night pulled over a green 1998 Ford Expedition in a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of a Kenai man on DUI charges, revoked license and an outstanding arrest warrant, troopers report. After the stop troopers made contact with the driver and the ensuing investigation revealed that he was intoxicated and driving while under the influence. The driver was identified as 37-year-old Kenai resident Craig King. Troopers would find that King’s license was revoked for a previous DUI. They would also find that King had an active arrest warrant for failing to remand for that January 19th DUI conviction.

Clam Gulch Man Arrested for Robbery in Kasilof DV Incident A Clam Gulch man was arrested in a Kasilof domestic violence incident and slapped with charges that included robbery and assault on Thursday night, troopers reported. AST responded to a Kasilof address after receiving a call reporting a domestic assault and opened an investigation.  51-year-old Craig Fales of Clam Gulch, who has had two prior DV convictions in the past ten years, was reported to have assaulted a family member, then forcefully took a cell phone valued at over $750 and threatened the victim with a metal shovel. It was found that he prevented the victim from calling 911 when he took their phone.

Troopers Respond to Vehicle Accident with Man Rolling around in Middle of the Road in Soldotna Alaska State Troopers revealed that they had responded to a location on Gaswell Road in Soldotna at 4:14 am after receiving a call reporting a vehicle in a ditch and a man rolling around in the middle of the road. When troopers arrived on the scene minutes later, they found a man, identified as 21-year-old Damion Alexan, “sitting in the middle of the road sobbing.” The investigation there found that Alexan had, while driving across the oncoming lane of traffic, had lost control and crashed into the ditch. AST would discover that Alexan had been driving while impaired by alcohol and so was subsequently arrested for DUI. He was transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility in Kenai and remanded there on the charge.
