Residents in the Oti and Volta Regions will from Thursday, March 18, experience interruptions in their power supply as a result of scheduled maintenance works to be carried out by the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo).
The power outages will last five days, after which normal power supply is expected to resume on Monday, March 22.
The outages would start from 6am to 6pm.
A request from the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) directed the latter to interrupt power supply to the two regions.
“The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) has requested the Electricity Company of Ghana Ltd. (ECG) to interrupt power supply from Thursday, 18th March, 2021 to Monday, 21st March, 2021.

The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has released a power rationing timetable for the Volta and Oti regions.
This according to GRIDCo is to enable them “undertake repair works on their transformer that supplies power to both Volta and Oti Regions through the 69 KV transmission line from the Asiekpe Bulk Supply Point.”
GRIDCo placed a request to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), to enforce the power outages from Thursday, March 18 to Monday, March 22, 2021.
However, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), Mr Jonathan Amoako-Baah, had earlier assured Ghanaians that dumsor is not back despite the recent frequent power outages experienced across the country even though he admitted that the country will experience power outages in the coming months due to ongoing repair works.

The notice by the ECG says this largely affects parts of the Volta and Oti Regions from Thursday, March 18 to Monday, March 22, 2021.
The move, according to GRIDCo, is to enable it to undertake repair works on transformers supplying the two regions.
Areas affected include parts of Ho, Adaklu Ahunda, Sogakope, Akatsi, Keta, Adidome and its environs are expected to experience power outages.
