The Ashanti Regional Police Command has apprehended four suspects in connection with a highway robbery on the Nkawie-Kobeng road that took place on Friday.
Occupants of three vehicles, a sprinter bus with registration number AS 3970-20, Nissan March with registration number AS 4327-13 and KIA Might truck with registration number AW 885-17, were yesterday evening robbed of their mobile phones and an undisclosed amount of money by some four armed men.
The armed gang after their operation made their escape through a nearby bush.
Less than 24 hours after the incident, a statement by the Ghana Police Command sighted by JoyNews revealed that four persons whose names have not been disclosed have been picked up after investigations.

The Upper East Region has a new police commander. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Dr Sayibu Pabi Gariba, assumed the command on Thursday, March 11, 2021.
He took over from DCOP Osei Kwaku Ampofo-Duku who proceeded on retirement on Friday, March 5, 2021.
A statement signed and issued to the media in Bolgatanga last Friday by the Public Affairs Officer of the Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mr. David Fianko-Okyere, stated that DCOP Dr Gariba, until his new position, was the Director in charge of Police Operations at the Ghana Police Service Headquarters in Accra.

A junior police officer has been found dead in his barracks room in Winneba, Central Region.
G/Const. Ahmed Nkansah, who was said to have been unwell for a while now, had a fluid oozing from his nostrils and mouth at the time that detectives went to the scene.
At 7:15am last Friday, C/Supol Mr. Samuel Asiedu Okanta, the Winneba Divisional Police Commander, and Acting Commandant/ Ghana Police Command and Staff College (GPCSC), was said to have received information that the deceased had been found dead in his room at the barracks.
