We’re monitoring passengers at KIA to prevent importation of COVID-19 – Nsiah-Asare LISTEN 7 HOURS AGO Government says it will continue to diligently test and vigorously monitor persons entering the country especially from countries with a high incidence of COVID-19. Pressure is mounting on the government to outrightly ban travels into the country from all such countries following Nigeria s ban on travels to and from India, Turkey and Brazil due to their high incidence of the virus. But, Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare tells Citi News that the Government of Ghana will continue to play by its most recent travel advisory while observing the situation.

Director of Health Promotion at the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Aboagye DaCosta believes Frontiers Health Services are providing one of the most important mechanisms in the fight against the Covid-19 at the Airport in spite of the bastardization by many Ghanaians. According to him, their introduction at the Kotoka International Airport is a great innovation to check the Covid-19 cases coming into the country, but it received a lot of criticisms when it was first introduced. Speaking on Okay FM s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Dr. Aboagye DaCosta said it is refreshing to see that Ghanaians are recognizing that the operations of the Frontiers Health Services are important in ensuring that the Covid-19 cases do not overwhelm the country like it is happening in Europe and other countries.

Alarming rate of COVID-19 cases recorded at Kotoka International Airport

Authors: April 26, 2021 12:30 PM The management of Frontier Health Services has said the number of COVID-19 cases keeps rising at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) as travelers arrive in the country. A health worker checks temperature of traveller as part of Coronavirus screening procedure at the Kotoka International Airport Pulse Ghana The company in a letter signed by the Managing Director, Dr. Kudzo Seneadza, said between April 21 and 24, 2021, an unprecedented 120 positive cases were recorded from arrivals. The letter to the Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited, Yaw Kwakwa, said on Saturday, April 24, 2021, stated that it recorded 75 positive cases, which is the highest daily number of positive COVID-19 cases at the airport.
