The NFL announces today that she will read another original work at the Super Bowl LV pregame show on February 7
Her poem will honor Los Angeles teacher Trimaine Davis, Tampa nurse Suzie Dorner, and Marine Corps veteran James Martin
Miley Cyrus will also perform at the pregame show, while The Weeknd will give the Super Bowl halftime performance
Among the three honorary captains is
Trimaine Davis, a school teacher in Gorman s native LA, who has worked to secure internet access and laptops for his students to access remote learning during the pandemic. Davis has also hosted tech workshops to help people learn how to use the devices.
Suzie Dorner, a Covid ICU nurse at Tampa General Hospital, will also be recognized for her work during the pandemic. She lost two grandparents to coronavirus and has been serving the Tampa community for more than eight years.
And the third honorary captain is Marine veteran James Martin of Pittsburgh, who has helped connect more than 1,800 veterans and their families to one another virtually through the Wounded Warrior Project and its livestreaming and video game events.

NEW YORK (AP) â The NFL has selected three people who have served during the coronavirus pandemic as honorary captains for the Super Bowl along with inaugural poet Amanda Gorman for an original poem.
Commissioner Roger Goodell announced Wednesday that educator Trimaine Davis, nurse manager Suzie Dorner and Marine veteran James Martin will take part in the coin toss on Feb. 7 in Tampa, Florida. The trio was picked for embodying the NFLâs message of âIt Takes All of Usâ this season.
