JEFFERSON CITY â Carson-Newman University announced plans to continue with in-person classes and increased student activities in the fall semester.
Understanding studentsâ need for fellowship and togetherness, Carson-Newman found alternative ways during this school year to meet in-person and online for classes, campus events, chapel and athletic events. This fall, the University plans to return to the traditional college experience.
âAs virus cases trend downward and vaccinations become more readily available, our students, faculty and staff eagerly anticipate opportunities to celebrate together as an Eagle family,â University President Charles A. Fowler said. âWe will continue to follow guidance provided by the Tennessee Department of Health as we make any plans for fall activities. We know that community is essential, and that we are all better when we are together.â

Wednesday, May 19, 2021
B.A.S.S. officials announced today that 100 high school anglers will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of colleges during the inaugural Abu Garcia Bassmaster High School Combine, which is set to debut Oct. 15-17 on Wheeler Lake in Decatur, Ala.
This is something we have dreamed of for years, said Hank Weldon, senior manager of the B.A.S.S. College and High School program. B.A.S.S. is constantly looking for ways to grow the High School and College platforms and give young anglers opportunities to excel not only in the sport but also in the industry. What better way than to give college coaches a chance to see all of the skills these high school anglers possess and possibly award scholarships?
