Parents celebrate as second son qualifies as doctor Parents are celebrating after their second child to qualified as a doctor only two years after his brother. Salman Nasir Buttar, 24, passed his finals at Cardiff School of Medicine this month. His older brother, Hamid, was the first in the family to become a doctor and younger sister, Hania, is also now one year away from completing her medical degree. All three students passed with straight As at GCSE while at Beardwood High School, Blackburn, and then went on to receive top marks at A levels. All three children could also not speak any English when they came to the UK in 2001 with their parents Hafeez and Yasmin Buttar.
