Carbondale Police and the Jackson County State s Attorney say an arrest has been made in connection with a homicide investigation dating back to September of 2020.
Police began investigating the disappearance and death of 41-year old Robin Renee Williams of West Frankfort on September 21st of last year. Her body was found in an abandoned home in the 600 block of East Park Street. At the time, the identified 44-year old Michael Lee Moore of Franklin County as suspect.
In January, Jackson County State s Attorney Joe Cervantez filed murder and domestic battery charges against Moore. A warrant was issued, and Moore was found in a jail in Florida on an unrelated charge.
Carbondale Police have launched a murder investigation.
Just before 6 a.m. Friday, officers responded to assist with an eviction in the 700 block of South Marion Street. During the investigation, police located 61-year-old Melvin L. Edwards of Carbondale. He was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale where he died from unknown injuries.
43-year-old Freddie Ray Glaser, formerly of Colorado, was identified as a suspect. He was located on South Lewis Lane and arrested on a charge of homicide. He has been lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
