Carlisle man to face crown court trial for child sex charges A MAN accused of a string of child sex offences is set to face trial at crown court. Michael John Bell, 43, of Bower Street, Carlisle, appeared at the city’s magistrates’ court on Tuesday to face eight counts of intentionally touching girls aged between 14 and 15 in a sexual manner without consent. Two charges related to alleged incidents between December 5, 2016 and December 5, 2018, two from the same date in 2018 to 2020, one an alleged incident on April 12, and the final three charges for alleged incidents between January 1, 2018 and April 4, 2020. He also faced two charges of intentionally exposing his genitals intending that someone would see them and be caused alarm or distress. Both charges related to alleged incidents between December 5, 2016 the same date in 2020.
