The student body of Will Carleton Academy observed National Bike to School Day Wednesday starting at the Hillsdale Community Library parking lot.
Coordinator Chelsi Dryer said the daily practice of opening school outside by the flagpole was moved to the library parking lot to accommodate the group of bikers, as well as walkers for the event. WCA starts each day with Opening Ceremony where we raise the flag, recite the Pledge of Allegiance, sing a patriotic song and enjoy a poetry recitation from a student, Dryer said. It’s a really special time to come together as a preschool-12th grade family and begin each day together with this tradition. It’s something we hold in high regard and cherish at Will Carleton Academy.
