Ireland’s oldest agricultural show is one of many cancelled in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
For the second year in a row, the hugely popular Iverk Agricultural Show, held in Piltown in Co Kilkenny, has been affected by the pandemic restrictions.

The death has occurred of Michael Bergin, Ballycarron, Jenkinstown, Kilkenny. Peacefully, at his residence. Husband of the late Betty. Predeceased by his brother Patrick and sisters Sr. Rita and Stella. Deeply regretted by his loving children Pat, John, Vincent, Marie, Joe, Ken, Michael, Norita and Lisa, sisters Mary (Mossie) and Sr Nora, sons in law, daughters in law, brother in law, sisters in law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. In accordance with HSE guidelines, a private Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday at 11am in St Colman s Church, Conahy, followed by burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Noel s close shave for the Carlow Kilkenny Homecare Team

A Thomastown man put his head in the line of fire for a very good cause at the weekend.
Noel Somers had his curly locks shorn to raise funds for the Carlow Kilkenny Homecare Team.
The fundraising was in memory of the late Amy McDonald, the sister of Noel s partner, who died on the 23rd December 2014, just two weeks before her 40th Birthday.
The Carlow Kilkenny Home Care Team not only helped Amy during her final months but also helped her sister and her mother. Becky siad: They became part of our little family and we will be forever grateful.
