PTI’s Billion Tree Project acclaimed widely, says Basharat

LAHORE: Punjab Law and Cooperatives Minister Raja Basharat has said that PTI’s Billion Tree Project is being appreciated all over the world while the Punjab government was taking full part in the monsoon tree plantation campaign as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He expressed these views on Monday while inaugurating the tree plantation campaign in Cooperative Housing Societies across the province by planting saplings in the Central Park of Model Town. Basharat said that planting as many trees as possible in the country was an important part of the PTI s manifesto as it would help us to combat climate change comfortably.
Kikar tree plantation on 1,000 acres in DG Khan this monsoon

ISLAMABAD: The Kikar trees would be planted on 1,000 acres of land in DG Khan during this monsoon season as part of the largest plantation campaign in the history of the country.
An official of the climate change ministry said that planting of Kikar trees on such a big area in the ongoing monsoon season is a daunting task but the ministry and the Punjab government are making joint efforts to achieve this target.
“The saplings are available and different teams have been formed that will plant them on the direction of botanists. It will give a green look to the area that is otherwise barren and infertile,” he said.
100m saplings to be planted during monsoon plantation drive

Islamabad : The climate change ministry has given targets to the forest departments of the federating units for the upcoming biggest monsoon tree plantation campaign in the history of Pakistan as a target of around 100 million saplings to be planted has been given to the federal and provincial governments.
According to the details, the ministry has conveyed the details of the monsoon plantation campaign to the provincial secretaries (forest) and informed them that Prime Minister Imran Khan would also take part in plantation drives in the provinces.
An official said the government has already achieved the target of planting one billion trees till June this year and now it is pursuing another target of two billion trees in next two years.
TAXILA: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said 45 water filtration plants have been installed for provision of clean drinking water to the residents of Attock, Hazro and Hasanabdal.
Costing Rs60 million, these filtration plants will help in controlling waterborne diseases in the areas, he told a gathering after inaugurating water filtration plants in Pethi and Rahmu villages of Hazro on Monday. He also said the PTI government was taking revolutionary steps for promotion of the education sector in Attock.
Mr Aslam said Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Attock campus will start offering admissions in BS Agriculture, BS Mathematics, BS Computer Science and BS Economics this year.
Punjab makes record of development budget use in 10 years

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday appreciated the objectives of the Punjab Development Programme and directed continuous monitoring of these projects, saying officers of all districts and related agencies will be responsible for timely completion of projects.
The prime minister directed that not only modern scientific methods should be used for monitoring the completion of projects, but also a system of continuous monitoring through third parties should be devised to keep them informed in this regard.
He also emphasised that special attention should be paid to the district development package to ensure the provision of facilities to the people, and that playgrounds should be built for the youth in each district to provide them with opportunities for healthy activities.
