AMHERST Two rental homes on 2.6 acres spread across three properties on Belchertown Road could be acquired by the town to support affordable housing initiatives.
The Town Council will vote Monday on whether to use up to $800,000 from the Community Preservation Act account for community housing following a unanimous recommendation from the CPA Committee.
The parcels, all owned by Keith Kaneta and Kendrick Property Management, are at 72, 76 and 80 Belchertown Road. They are on the northeast side of Belchertown Road, immediately across from an entrance to Colonial Village Apartments and just a few hundred yards southeast of the intersection of College and South East streets, at the heart of the East Amherst village center.
