(Courtesy Colonial Williamsburg Foundation) The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Colonial Williamsburg will look at little different this year because of the coronavirus pandemic. “A beloved Williamsburg holiday tradition – the 61st annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony presented by Colonial Williamsburg and the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg – will go virtual in 2020 to limit health risks associated with COVID-19,” according to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s news release. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can expect to see a 40-foot spruce tree with “nearly 7,500 lights, music and a community reading of “a Visit from St. Nicholas”––“The Night Before Christmas”
