The William & Mary Theatre, Speech and Dance Department announced its spring performance schedule for the 2021 season on Jan. 8.
Theatre fans can expect performances from current students, alumni and partnerships with other art organizations â including Christopher Newport University â showcasing diversity in the arts, according to the departmentâs announcement.
Some performances are original works like âMOSAICâ and âthe Untethered: Homecomingâ â both dance productions.
ââThe Untethered: Homecomingâ will hopefully provide a space for reflective nostalgia for the theatre and college community at William & Mary through song, monologues, dance and poetry that could pave the way for both healing and a sense of community,â Francis Tanglao Aguas, the showâ

The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Colonial Williamsburg will look at little different this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
âA beloved Williamsburg holiday tradition â the 61st annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony presented by Colonial Williamsburg and the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg â will go virtual in 2020 to limit health risks associated with COVID-19,â according to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s news release.
The event is free and open to the public.
Attendees can expect to see a 40-foot spruce tree with ânearly 7,500 lights, music and a community reading of âa Visit from St. NicholasââââThe Night Before Christmasâ
