Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur on Wednesday became the first serving union minister to be promoted as Captain in the Territorial Army as a regular commissioned officer.
Mr Thakur has been promoted to the rank of Captain at 124 Infantry Battalion Territorial Army (Sikh).

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur on Wednesday (10 March) became the first serving union minister to be promoted as Captain in the Territorial Army as a regular commissioned officer, reports

Thakur, a four-time BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh s Hamirpur, has been promoted to the rank of Captain at 124 Infantry Battalion Territorial Army (Sikh).
Notably, he was commissioned into the Territorial Army as a Lieutenant by then Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Dalbir S Suhag TA in July 2016.
