On March 29, at approximately 1:13 a.m., officers from the Caledon Detachment of the OPP, along with Caledon Fire responded to a vehicle fire on Healey Road in the Town of Caledon.
Once the fire was extinguished, a deceased person was located inside the vehicle. Caledon OPP, the Coroner’s Office and the Ontario Fire Marshall are investigating the cause of death. A post mortem is scheduled at the Centre of Forensic Sciences (CFS) in Toronto.
Healey Road was closed between Airport and Innis Lake Roads from approximately 1:25 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has received three reports of possible dog poisoning using antifreeze so far this month.
They all occurred in the Bolton community, more specifically in the neighbourhoods surrounding James Bolton Public School. In one report, it was a piece of bread soaked in antifreeze.
“Caledon OPP would like to emphasize the importance of remaining vigilant to what your pets are consuming when outdoors,” say Police. “Adhering to the Caledon By-Law requiring your dog to be on a leash will also provide you with some additional control.
“Please remember that it is important to immediately report any suspicious activity to police, specifically around parks and other public areas in these circumstances. Information such as a description of the person and their vehicle (especially the plate number if observed) are all useful details to

On January 29, at approximately 11:01 a.m., officers from the Caledon Detachment of the OPP responded to a theft call for service at a local business. Information was received that a back pack containing keys, electronics, and a wallet was taken from the passenger seat of an unlocked vehicle.
On January 31, at approximately 7:08 a.m., OPP received information that the suspect vehicle had returned to the local business. Officers responded and located the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, three individuals were arrested and are facing numerous charges.

On Sunday (Jan. 24) officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two drivers for excessive speed/stunt driving while they we
re conducting speed enforcement along Highway 10 in the Town of Caledon.
At approximately 2:17 p.m., on Highway 410 and Hurontario Street, a 28-year-old from Orangeville was stopped for going 154 km/hr in in an 80 km/hr zone.
As well, at approximately 1:10 a.m., on Highway 10 near Charleston Side Road, a 24-year-old from Mississauga was stopped for going 108 km/hr in a 50km/hr zone.
Both drivers were charged with Stunt Driving and received an immediate seven-day vehicle impound and driver’s license suspension. They are scheduled to appear! in Caledon East Provincial Court to answer to the charges.
