34 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Wednesday (May 5) by Catawba County Public Health, raising the overall total to 18,816, with 302 deaths. 18 people were hospitalized with the coronavirus. 30% of Catawba County’s residents have now been fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Eight new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Caldwell County Wednesday, increasing the tally to 9,324, with 147 deaths. Five people were hospitalized.
Two new cases of the virus were reported in Alexander County, lifting the total to 4,365. There have been 10,102 cases overall in Burke County, with 158 deaths, and six people were hospitalized as of earlier today (May 6).

The latest update shows that 27% of Catawba County’s residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. One new case of COVID-19 was reported Wednesday in Alexander County, increasing the total to 4,323, with 86 deaths. Five people were hospitalized.
14 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed in Burke County, increasing the total to 9,981, with 154 deaths. Five people were hospitalized. 11 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Caldwell County Wednesday, raising the total to 9,258, with 147 deaths. There were six people hospitalized.

No COVID-19-related deaths were reported once again Wednesday (March 10) in the Hickory Metro. Catawba County Public Health is still reporting 288 total deaths. There were 27 new cases of the coronavirus reported in Catawba County, increasing the total to 17,334. 23 people were hospitalized.
14 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Burke County Wednesday, lifting the overall total to 9,525, with 146 deaths. There was one person hospitalized with the virus in Burke County.
11 new cases of the coronavirus were reported in Caldwell County Wednesday, raising the tally to 8,794, with 138 deaths. There were 16 people hospitalized. Six new cases were reported Wednesday in Alexander County, increasing the total to 3,969, with 84 deaths. There were ten people hospitalized.

Ten COVID-19-related deaths were reported by Catawba County Public Health Wednesday (December 30), for a total of 161 virus-related fatalities since the start of the pandemic. 147 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed in Catawba County Wednesday, bringing the total to 11,306. 113 people were hospitalized.
Burke County Public Health reported three COVID-19-associated deaths Wednesday. There have now been 82 virus-related fatalities in the county since the start of the pandemic. Two individuals were in their 80s and was over the age of 100. Two were not hospitalized and one was hospitalized. Burke County Public Health reported 197 new cases of the coronavirus, increasing the total to 6,106. There were 23 people hospitalized with the virus.
