LIVESTOCK marts in Cumbria are urging farmers to be cautious following the Government s announcement to end the majority of legal Covid restrictions. The Livestock Auctioneers’ Association (LAA) has welcomed the Government announcement Step 4 of the Covid-19 Roadmap will proceed as planned in England on Monday July 19 but has encouraged its members and their clients to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to continue to help protect public health. Chris Dodds, executive secretary of the LAA said they had been ’extremely grateful’ for the support they had received during the restrictions.“During this period, it has again demonstrated the importance of the livestock market, not only in setting the tremendous trade we have seen over recent months, but also as an essential social hub for the wider rural community, he said.
