Raphoe woman just glad to be alive after accident

A RAPHOE woman who lost an arm in a horrific road accident says she is “blessed and humbled” by the outpouring of support that has been shown to her. Mother-of-two Evette Woods added that she was “thankful to be alive” following the crash on the main Letterkenny to Lifford road last Saturday. Ms Woods was airlifted to Galway University Hospital following the single vehicle collision. But despite the efforts of medics, her arm had to be amputated from the from the elbow down. Due to the severity of her injuries, a fundraising appeal has been set up to help adapt Evette’s home while the majority of the funds will be used towards a prosthetic hand.

MARY KEHOE  (née Flynn) Hawthorn Drive, Roscommon town and formerly of Cloonkeen, Kilkerrin, Co Galway and Castlecoote, Co Roscommon. April 16 th, 2021 Peacefully, at Galway University Hospital. She will be very sadly missed by her loving husband Sean, son John, daughter Martina, brother Michéal, sisters Margaret and Bina, daughter-in-law Jela, son-in-law Billy, grandchildren Cathal and Emma, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Mary is pre-deceased by her sisters Beda and Tess. May Mary rest in peace. Please note that in an effort to follow government guidelines and with the support and agreement of the family, Mary’s  funeral will take place with immediate family attending only. Her funeral cortege will depart from Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon on Monday morning at 10.40  and arrive at the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 o’clock.
