Tobias Ellwood defends speaking at 27-person business dinner first advertised as ‘Christmas party’ Barney Davis
Tobias Ellwood has insisted he did not break Covid-19 restrictions after this week speaking at a 27-person dinner that was initially advertised as a “Christmas party”.
The ToryMP for Bournemouth East was among the attendees at the business dinner hosted by the Iraq Britain Business Council (IBBC) on December 15 - the day after warning the House of Commons of a possible third wave of coronavirus in the New Year.
The event came just hours before London was plunged into Tier 3 restrictions, a move which barred people from meeting with anyone outside their household or support bubble indoors or outdoors, apart from in a public open space in a group of six or less.
