In the second year of its Twitch Rivals Streamer Bowl, streaming platform Twitch has announced the lineup of celebrities and streamers to play the hit online battle arena game
Fortnite.
Coinciding with the NFL Super Bowl LV, the global streaming platform will be hosting the esports tournament, teams will be duking it out with other teams in an elimination-style tourney. The Twitch event is set for Feb. 4, Thursday, at 3:00 p.m. PT / 6:00 p.m. ET. Testing the skills of both NFL athletes and popular streamers, the Twitch Rivals Streamer Bowl is the perfect event to build the hype before the Tampa Bay Buccaneers face off against the Kansas City Chiefs in the highly-anticipated culmination of the NFL 2020 Season.
Fortnite update released: Predator, Jungle Hunter, one big alien skull!

The latest Fortnite update is ready to roll, including a new boss character, a new mythic item, new Jungle Hunter Quests, and IO Guards removed from the Arena. Overnight an issue appeared with searching for specific players through friends lists – if you’re still experiencing that, make sure you’re not “mass accepting” any friend requests in the interim. UPDATE: Fornite’s creators suggest they’ve fixed the error this morning.
Downtime for Fortnite update version 15.21 started at 3AM Central Time on January 20, 2021. It was scheduled to last a couple of hours, and should be done by the time you read this update to this article. A list of Known Issues can be found on the Trello board for this update now.
Epic Games Acquired RAD Games Tools
Epic Games has officially acquired software developer RAD Game Tools which has been a prominent feature in around 24,600 games to date. The game tools will be leveraged as part of Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, but it won’t be exclusive to the engine either, allowing developers from other teams to continue using RAD Game Tools. Epic Games’ Fortnite is available for free right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Android.

FTC settles with mobile ad company Tapjoy over deceptive practices
Mobile advertising company Tapjoy has settled with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission over allegations that it was misleading consumers about the in-app rewards they could earn in mobile games. According to the FTC, Tapjoy deceived consumers who participated in various activities like purchasing a product, signing up for a free trial, providing their personal information like an email address or completing a survey in exchange for in-game virtual currency. But when it was time to pay up, Tapjoy’s partners didn’t deliver.
As a result of the ruling, Tapjoy will have to clean up its business by monitoring the offers from advertisers presented to consumers and conspicuously display the terms that explain how rewards are earned. It will also be required to follow through to ensure the offers are delivered and investigate consumer complaints if they are not. Failure to follow the terms of the settlement will result
