ANI | Updated: Feb 22, 2021 23:24 IST Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], February 22 (ANI): The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday formally notified 43 border villages in Jammu, Kathua and Samba for International Border reservation benefits. The move comes after Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had directed officials in the public grievances-related programme Mulaqaat held in December 2020. According to the Social Welfare Department, the listed villages adjoining the international border will be provided with the benefit under the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Rules 2005. (ANI)

Finally, vast population of 43 IB villages all set to get justice Finally, vast population of 43 IB villages all set to get justice LG’s Mulaqaat Prog helps in inclusion for reservation benefit Mohinder Verma JAMMU, Feb 16: Finally, vast population of 43 villages situated within 0 to 6 kilometres from the International Border (IB) is all set to get justice as Lieutenant Governor’s Mulaqaat Programme has paved the way for their inclusion in the lists for obtaining reservation benefit, which was denied to them inadvertently by the administration last year. The decision about granting three percent reservation to the people living within six kilometres from the International Border in the direct recruitment for Government jobs, admission in professional institutions and post-graduate courses on the lines of people living along the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan was taken in the year 2019.
