Sentencing for man accused of crashing into Gaston Co. restaurant, killing family members resumes Wednesday

BESSEMER CITY, NC (WBTV) - Nearly three years ago, Roger Self rammed his SUV into a Gaston County restaurant where his family was dining on a Sunday afternoon.
Self was back in court Tuesday for the first day of his sentencing hearing.
After hours of testimonies from witnesses, and even Self talking himself, the hearing will be continued until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
In January, Self also entered an Alford Plea, meaning he maintains his innocence but admits there may be enough evidence for a conviction.

GASTONIA, N.C. A 49-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday evening in Gastonia sparking a homicide investigation, according to police.
Gastonia Police responded to Shannon Bradley Road around 8:15 p.m. after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a man with a gunshot wound.
Police say the victim, identified as Virgil Stokes Jr. of Gastonia, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Gastonia Police Department are actively investigating this incident and asking for assistance from the public.

GASTONIA, N.C. Gastonia Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing woman.
According to police, 38-year-old Cherie Shavon Ingram has been missing from her home in Gastonia since March 27. Police describe Ingram as 5’4” tall and weighing 145 pounds.

Cherie Shavon Ingram went missing on March 27. She was last seen on S. South Street in Gastonia, according to officials.
