Honeywell systems selected for King Salman complex

Honeywell has been awarded a major contract by SEPCO Electric Power Construction Corporation (SEPCO) to supply connected control, telecommunications, safety and security systems for the King Salman International Complex for Maritime Industries and Services shipyard being developed by Aramco in Ras Al-Khair. When completed, the complex will be one of the largest shipyards in the world. It will be automated using a range of Honeywell technologies designed to make the facility’s operations safer, more efficient and secure. Sultan Al-Hamidi, Aljazira Capital board member

Sultan Al-Hamidi has been a member of Aljazira Capital’s board since July 2019 and also sits on the company’s committees responsible for investment, risk, credit, and compliance. In addition, he has acted as vice president of social loans for the Saudi Social Development Bank since 2019 and has been a member of the risk and credit committee at the National Finance Co. since January last year. He worked with Bank Aljazira for more than four years as vice president and head of consumer assets during which time he led the growth of all of its retail bank products and introduced innovative solutions that helped grow its mortgage and personal finance portfolios.

Dr. Khalid Al-Sultan is the newly appointed chairman of the board of directors of the Saudi Electricity Company, a position he has held in an acting capacity since 2018. A long-time academic, he began his career as an assistant professor at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in 1990, rising through the university’s academic ranks before becoming rector in 2003. Notably, he is the first rector to have graduated from the institution to hold this position. He also has served as deputy minister for educational affairs. He served as dean of the College of Computer Sciences and Engineering from September 1996 until August 1998 and chairman of the Department of Systems Engineering from June 1993 until August 1996 at KFUPM.

Saudi students compete to design KSA s cultural buildings

The initiative, from the Ministry of Culture’s Architecture and Design Authority, was launched on Sunday. There will be competitions covering areas such as urban design and planning, landscape architecture, interior, industrial and graphic design. The first competition requires students to design public libraries in various Saudi cities. The buildings must be designed to accommodate the city’s cultural identity through a deep understanding of its social and historical context.
