He said actions of parliamentarians in recent times doesn’t speak well of the August House to the public – hence, there is a need for the Speaker to be firm.
This follows series of heckling when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo delivered the State of the Nation Address on Tuesday.
The minority side relentlessly disrupted the President chanting to disapprove of some contents in the President’s speech.
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has however noted that he will not tolerate such behaviour and urged lawmakers to be meticulous.
Lawyer and Governance Expert, Dr Eric Oduro Osae has called on the government to put up a mechanism that will safeguard persons who fight corruption to protect the public purse.
“We must protect and support them. If the person is fighting corruption and corruption fights back, what is the protection system?” he questioned.
In an interview with
NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, Dr Eric Oduro Osae noted that, “there are people in the system who are not happy with corruption fighters. It’s dangerous”.
