KING COUNTY, Wash. Two people in King County died from heat-related illnesses during western Washington s historic heat wave, and a third person drowned, according to the King County Medical Examiner s Office on Tuesday.
Monday was the hottest day of the heat wave, with Seattle setting a new all-time record high temperature of 108 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

REDMOND, Wash. (AP) - A Redmond man has been charged with murder after prosecutors said he cut his 8-year-old son’s throat before attempting to harm himself.
Omid Mola, 38, was booked into the King County Jail on a first-degree murder charge Friday afternoon, according to court records. He is being held in lieu of $5 million bail.
In charging documents, prosecutors say Mola waited until after his wife’s 24-hour work shift ended on Tuesday before attacking their son with a kitchen knife. The boy reportedly tried to call his mother after his throat was cut, according to court documents, but was unable to speak. The woman then called her husband and 911.
