Notice regarding Maynard Nichols

Provost Peggy Agouris sent the following message to the campus community June 1, 2021. - Ed. Dear Colleagues, I write to share the news that Professor of Marine Science, Emeritus Maynard M. Nichols, 93, passed away peacefully on May 12 with his wife, Jane, by his side. He was born in Patchogue, NY on January 13, 1928 to Francis Nancy Nichols and Maynard Asa Nichols. Nick, as he was fondly referred to by family and friends, had a life-long love of the environment, especially rivers and oceans. This love guided him through his educational career earning him a B.S. from Columbia University, a M.S. from Scripps Institute of Oceanography and a Ph.D. from UCLA.

Student creations to be exhibited at Ware Church Art Walk – Gazette Journal

Posted On March 10, 2021 A community Art Walk event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Ware Episcopal Church. The free event is a collaboration between Ware Episcopal and Gloucester County Public Schools’ art teachers. The teachers will be providing student artwork for an outdoor exhibit on the church grounds. “This past year has really been tough on kids and parents,” said Ware Rector Scott Parnell. “We want them to know we realize that and to let kids know that we appreciate them and support them, and we want to give them an opportunity to be celebrated.” The afternoon will also include family photo opportunities, an opportunity to plant in the Ware Gardens, craft opportunities, a nature walk/scavenger hunt, live music and informational exhibits.
