The Wellsville Daily Reporter The Cuba-Rushford Central School District needs at least 60% of district voters to approve its $23,980,195 budget Tuesday, despite not increasing the tax levy over last year’s level. The Allegany County school district is one of 20 in New York state seeking to override the state’s tax cap, and one of nine doing so because it has a negative tax cap meaning they would have to reduce the levy to stay under the limit. The plan voters will consider Tuesday would include $6,127,015 in property taxes, the same amount as 2020-21. Cuba-Rushford’s tax cap for 2021-22 is a negative percentage: -1.66%. That would require a reduction of $101,787 compared to last year.
