Troopers Catch Up With Pair Driving Stolen Rolls Royce At 177 MPH On I-24 In Marion County Wednesday, May 5, 2021
The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Chattanooga District responded on Tuesday to a BOLO from the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) that their troopers were in pursuit of a stolen Rolls-Royce out of Georgia.
THP Sergeant David McVey observed the stolen vehicle speeding at 177 mph on I-24 westbound in Marion County. The stolen vehicle then passed a Porsche 944 and caused the driver of the Porsche to crash into the rear of the Rolls-Royce. Both vehicles pulled to the shoulder of I-24 at the 127 mile marker. Two men exited the Rolls-Royce and attempted to physically remove or carjack the driver of the Porsche. During the altercation, a semi-automatic pistol was presented by one of the suspects.

MARION COUNTY, Tenn. (WMC) - A car chase ended in Marion County, Tennessee Tuesday with two suspects taken into custody.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) responded to a BOLO from the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) that its troopers with in pursuit of a stolen Rolls Royce from Georgia.
A sergeant with THP observed the stolen car speeding at 177 mph on I-24 westbound in Marion County. The stolen car passed a Porsche 944, causing the driver of the Porsche to crash into the back of the Rolls Royce.

GRUNDY CENTER A man charged in the shooting death of an Iowa State Patrol trooper was released from a hospital Wednesday and transported to jail, the Iowa Department of Public Safety said.
Michael Lang, 41, of Grundy Center, had been recovering from gunshot wounds he suffered in a confrontation with law enforcement officers on April 9 in Grundy Center.

GRUNDY CENTER, Iowa The man accused of shooting and killing an Iowa State Patrol sergeant is formally charged.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation says Michael Lang, 41, of Grundy Center was released from University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and taken to the Grundy County Sheriff s Office where he made his initial appearance.
DCI says Lang is charged with :
First-Degree Murder, a Class A Felony, resulting in the death of Sergeant Jim Smith.
Attempt to Commit Murder, a Class B Felony, unlawfully and intentionally attempted to cause the death of Troopers in the wheeled armored personnel carrier.

A man charged in the shooting death of an Iowa State Patrol trooper was released from a hospital Wednesday and transported to jail, according to the Iowa Department of Public Safety. 41 year old Michael Lang, of Grundy Center, had been recovering from gunshot wounds he suffered in a confrontation with law enforcement officers on April 9 in Grundy Center. Patrol Sgt. Jim Smith was killed while helping to arrest Lang, who was barricaded inside his home. Lang, who ran for sheriff last year, was taken from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, where he made his initial court appearance. He has been charged with first-degree murder, attempt to commit murder and assault on a peace officer. Lang was taken to the Black Hawk County Jail, where he was being held on $3 million cash bond.
