Cahir Castle To Swiss Cottage Blueway (Image: takemewalking.com)
Tipperary is to benefit from â¬282,000 funding for two projects under Measure 2 of the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.
Cahir Suir Blueway Infrastructure Enhancement will receive â¬200,000. This funding will be used to develop the walkway from Cahir Castle to the Swiss Cottage, while Beara-Breifne Way, connecting Lorrha to Portumna, was allocated almost â¬82,000.
The Minister for Rural & Community Development, Heather Humpreys, announced over â¬6.5 million in funding today, for 38 projects under Measure 2 of the scheme. She is expected to make a further announcement in respect of measure 3 projects, which are larger projects accessing funding of up to â¬500,000 each, in the coming weeks.
