If you are a renter or a landlord in Godfrey, the village wants you to know you may be eligible for rental assistance. Madison County recently received $7.8 million in federal aid aimed at helping those impacted by the pandemic. The funding comes from the Federal Emergency Rental Assistance program.
Eligible families are residents of Madison County who have an annual family income of 80% of the median income. Godfrey Village Clerk Bethany Bohn tells The Big Z this is available on a first come, first served basis.

GODFREY Rental assistance is available for Godfrey resident tenants and landlords.
Godfrey Village Clerk Bethany Bohn said Madison County has received a $7.8 million federal grant to help renters and landlords affected by the COVID-19 pandemic as part of a national $25 billion program.
Qualifying households could receive assistance with up to 12 months of back rent. Unlike other forms of rental assistance this can be applied for directly by landlords. Owners or landlords renting to eligible households can apply on behalf of their tenants who meet the annual family income of 80 percent of the median income for a family.
