A WOMAN who claimed she had Covid-19 and repeatedly coughed in the presence of police officers has been sentenced at Lerwick Sheriff Court.
Sarah Irvine, whose address was given as Grampian Prison, was placed under supervision for three years and ordered to undertake 300 hours of unpaid work when she appeared from custody on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old previously admitted repeatedly coughing in the presence of police officers while claiming to be infected with Covid-19 at an address in Lerwick on 12 January.
Four days later at another address in Lerwick she threw a vodka bottle which struck a man on the face to his injury, and while en route to the police station Irvine assaulted a police constable and coughed in his face.
A MAN has been jailed after carrying out a ânasty assaultâ in Lerwick which briefly left his victim unconscious.
Marcin Olejniczak, whose address was given as Grampian Prison, appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Thursday to admit assaulting his partner on 23 April and 24 September last year.
In the first incident he struck her on the head, and in the second he repeatedly struck her on the head, rendering her unconscious, with both assaults causing injury.

The later offence was committed while the 42-year-old was on bail.
Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie told the court that the coupleâs relationship was on-off and âextremely volatile due to both having a chronic dependence on alcoholâ.

A MAN from Aberdeen who assaulted a vulnerable person in Shetland in September last year was jailed for eight months at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
The court heard how Kasim Javed, who appeared via video link from Grampian Prison where he is serving a custodial sentence for another matter, also smashed a TV set and urinated on a mattress.

The 32-year old struck the woman on her head after becoming drunk at her Lerwick address on 27 September.
Two days later, on 29 September, Javed, of Gaitside Drive, wilfully and recklessly destroyed a television in the flat and urinated on a mattress.
