Zachary Lee Flinn, 28, of Rippey was arrested Monday on a Greene County warrant on charges of controlled substance violation, third or subsequent offense possession of a controlled substance and ongoing criminal conduct-influence enterprise.
The latest arrest in the nine-month drug investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s office occurred Monday when an arrest warrant was served to a Rippey man.
Zachary Lee Flinn, 28, of 106 E. Percival St., Rippey, was charged with controlled substance violation, third or subsequent offense possession of a controlled substance and ongoing criminal conduct-influence enterprise.
The incident leading to Flinn’s arrest began about 3 p.m. May 21 near the intersection of 310th Street and Iowa Highway 144 in rural Rippey, where a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle in which Flinn was a passenger.
A Carroll man arrested last week for his involvement in a bank robbery in Scranton now also faces felony drug charges in Carroll County District Court. According to court records, 26-year-old Tyler Scott Mattingly, who has also reported residence in Fort Dodge, was taken into custody on March 3 on an outstanding arrest warrant for controlled substance violations, a class C felony, and driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor. Those charges stem from an investigation into a serious car accident near Arcadia on Jan. 2. Authorities allege a container with nearly 41 grams of methamphetamine was located inside the vehicle Mattingly was driving at the time of the crash. Several small plastic jewelry bags were also found inside the car. As of Monday, Mattingly remains in custody at the Carroll County jail on a $25,000 bond. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office reports a second suspect in a Feb. 25 bank robbery at People’s Bank in Scranton was taken into custody Wednesday. According to law enforcement, 26-year-old Tyler Scott Mattingly of Carroll was arrested for aiding and abetting 27-year-old Zachary Michael Anderson Wailes of Fort Dodge in the commission of first-degree robbery, a class B felony, and first-degree theft, a class C felony. An investigation into the bank robbery is being led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) with assistance from the Carroll, Calhoun and Boone County Sheriff’s Offices and the Lake City, Boone and Ames Police Departments. Anderson Wailes made his initial appearance in Greene County District Court on Monday and remains in custody at the Greene County jail. Mattingly is also in custody at the jail awaiting an appearance before a magistrate.
