JOHNSTOWN Work on the city’s infrastructure like culverts and bridges continues through the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his monthly report Tuesday to the Common Council, City Engineer Christopher Vose said the city is expecting delivery this month of North Chase Street and South Chase Street culverts from manufacturer Contech.
All permitting with agencies such as the state Department of Environmental Conservation was obtained, and design work by Greenman Pedersen Inc. was finalized on the city’s behalf.
“We intend to start these projects in March, weather dependent,” Vose reported.
Vose also said he continues to work with Greenman Pedersen engineers on the replacement of the Townsend Avenue Bridge. The project is still on schedule for construction during the 2021 season, he said.
