GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) A sheriff s deputy in South Carolina whose body camera showed him closing a car door on the head of a handcuffed suspect is facing an internal affairs investigation.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office has an “active” probe of the April 2019 incident involving Sgt. Jacob Walters, spokesman Lt. Ryan Flood said Friday in an email, confirming a report in The Greenville News.
He said the agency has also requested an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. SLED has an “open investigation into this matter,” spokesman Tommy Crosby said in an email.

Tyson Devlin Moody, 32, is charged with point and presenting firearms at a person, unlawful possession of a pistol, and unlawful carrying of a pistol, according to arrest warrants.
He is being held at the Greenville County Detention Center, according to the State Law Enforcement Division.
Moody was injured, taken to the hospital and later released after being shot by a deputy in a confrontation early March 6, according to the Sheriff s Office.
The Sheriff s Office was dispatched to 3000 Toscano Court early Saturday morning in reference to a call about someone running around on the roof of the building, according to warrants.
A man was shot by a Greenville County Sheriff s Office deputy early Saturday morning, officials said.
The shooting happened at Pelham Village Apartments on Toscano Court just after 2 a.m., according to Lt. Ryan Flood, a spokesman for the sheriff s office. At least one deputy responded to the apartment complex after there was a complaint about noises on the roof, Flood said. When the deputy arrived on scene, a man was observed on the roof of the apartments, Flood said in an emailed statement. At some point during the interaction the person on the roof presented a firearm and subsequently an officer involved shooting took place.
