Rally to End Polluter Welfare because it’s time for Congress to fund our futures instead of fossil fuels. Zero Hour and our partners are calling on Congress to make eliminating fossil fuels a top priority to carry out President Biden’s Made in America Tax Plan.
Confirmed speakers for the rally include Congressman Ro Khanna, Zanagee Artis of Zero Hour, Natalie Mebane of 350.org, Jane Kleeb of Bold Alliance and the Nebraska Democratic Party, and Kevin Patel of One Up Action International
The rally is being hosted by Zero Hour and is cosponsored by the following organizations:
One year ago, George Floyd – a Black man in Minnesota – was chillingly murdered by a white police officer in a case that rocked the United States and the world and reinvigorated the Black Lives Matter movement.
Nationwide, the response to Floyd’s killing went beyond calls for criminal justice reform. Activists have rallied to demand more equitable policies to tackle structural violence, as well as racially driven income, health and housing disparities.
Promoting environmental justice is also high on the agenda.
The Red Black & Green New Deal is part of that movement and represents a new approach to environmental issues that fuses the politics of Black liberation with efforts to tackle climate change.

The Group of Seven (G7) members have agreed to phase out support for “carbon intensive” fossil fuels as they look to limit a rise in global temperatures to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
The G7 environment and climate ministers met virtually late last week and confirmed they would aim to keep a limit of a 1.5 degree Celcius temperature rise “within reach” by making their 2030 ambitions consistent with the aim of achieving net zero emissions as soon as possible and no later than 2050.
