Mackay weather: What to expect on Christmas Day

That’s the advice from the Bureau of Meteorology, which has forecasted an 80 per cent chance of rain in the region on December 25. BOM meteorologist Matt Marshall said most of the rain in the state on Christmas Day was expected to fall in the Mackay, Coalfields and Central Highlands areas. “In the lead up to Christmas, we’re seeing temperatures a degree or two above average,” Mr Marshall said. “Heading towards Christmas, things will cool down a little bit with a top of 30C on Christmas Day.
