ATHENS – Destination Greece. Health First offers updated information online in six languages for the upcoming 2021 tourist season.
The Ministry of Tourism and the Greek National Tourism Organization website, Destination Greece informs travelers about the health measures taken by Greece for the protection of visitors to the country.
In particular, the content on the site, in addition to Greek and English, is also translated into German, French, Italian, and Russian, while the videos are subtitled in the respective languages.

Aiming to provide international travelers with all the information they need on the health protocols implemented in Greece against the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) has upgraded its
“Destination Greece. Health First” website .

Dimitris Papastergiou said the municipality’s tourism strategy focuses on the city’s comparative advantages: its prime location on the mainland, as it connects northern and southern Greece; its proximity to the UNESCO world heritage site of Meteora; and its exceptional local products.
Papastergiou expects the new northern section of the E65 highway to further improve access to Trikala, considering that it directly connects the city with the main Egnatia motorway.
Trikala attracts domestic travelers
To attract even more travelers, Trikala ten years ago created the “Mill of Elves” (Milos ton Xotikon), a thematic park that opens every year during the Christmas season to host activities and events for residents and visitors.

In efforts to promote Greek tourism and attract potential travelers in the post-Covid-19 era, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) is proceeding with the
upgrade of its digital tools and infrastructure.
Speaking during an online conference on Monday held by the Greek chapter of the International Federation for IT and Travel & Tourism (IFITT), GNTO Secretary General
Dimitris Fragakis said that the organization’s three-year strategic tourism plan includes the
complete revamp of the
www.visitgreece.gr portal, to be carried out in collaboration with Cosmote and Atcom.
According to Fragakis, after the revamp the portal will offer additional sections dedicated to coastal areas and mainland Greece, aiming to provide travelers with many different options
