All that remains is the shell of what use to be a retail mainstay in the region. The property was recently purchased by Industrial Commercial Properties based in Solon. The company is already planning for the mall’s future with plans to bring in the first commercial tenants this summer.

Mpac Switchback recently inked a lease on 58,000 square feet of the former Walmart store near the northern end of the 75-acre site. A Solon-based real estate developer will take control of the failed City View Center retail project in Garfield Heights, after entering the winning and the only bid for the property. During a brief auction Thursday morning, Dec. 10, an affiliate of Industrial Commercial Properties LLC offered $2 million for the 60-acre shopping center, which already is being repositioned as a business park.
