The 18th Annual Women in the Arts Talent Showcase presented by the Patapsco River (MD) Chapter of the Links, Inc. will take place Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 6 p.m. The event is free, but Eventbrite registration is required. The evening of the arts, celebrates and enjoys the artistic talents and achievements of African-American women who have made tremendous contributions to the community through their magnificent expressions of visual, literary, and performing arts.
In recognition of March as National Women s History Month, the Patapsco River (MD) Chapter of the Links, Inc are honoring this year s national theme: Valiant Women of Freedom: Refusing to Be Silent This theme honors the brave women who fought to win suffrage rights for women, and for the âshe-ros who continue to fight for the civil and human rights of others.
Police: New York nurse killed by a snowplow

GLENN FALLS, N.Y. (AP) New York authorities are investigating the death of a Glenn Falls nurse who was struck by a snowplow.
Kristen Stevenson of Queensbury was struck after 5 p.m. near the loading dock at Glens Falls Hospital, the Post Star reported.
Glens Falls Police Chief Joseph Boisclair said a preliminary investigation indicates that Stevenson unknowingly walked behind the snowplow while the vehicle was backing up.

The crash remains under investigation. Glens Falls Hospital spokesperson Ray Agnew said Stevenson, a nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, started in May 2011 and was loved by all.

A nurse at an upstate New York hospital was fatally struck by a snowplow behind the medical center she worked at on Tuesday, according to police and a report.
Kristen Stevenson, 33, was hit when she walked behind the plow as it was backing up outside Glens Falls Hospital, police said in a statement.
Medics administered aid to Stevenson on [the] scene, but she could not be saved, police said.
Stevenson worked at Glens Falls Hospital since 2011 as a cardiac catheterization lab nurse, hospital spokesman Ray Agnew said in a statement to The Post Star.
