Fisher is encouraging New Jersey residents to help take part in eliminating Spotted Lanternfly egg masses before they hatch near the end of April or in early May. Fisher and NJDA Plant Industry Division Director Joseph Zoltowski provide information and instructions on how to find and destroy the egg masses in a video that has been released to the public, according to a press release. Spotted Lanternfly egg masses hold between 30 and 50 eggs of the invasive species. One sign to look for to see where Spotted Lanternfly has been is a black sooty mold on a tree.

Mayor Theresa Berger, Deputy Mayor Thomas Russo, Councilwoman Evelyn O’Donnell and Councilman John Bonevich voted “yes” to authorize Minock’s appointment during a meeting on Feb. 23. Councilwoman Pamela Richmond was absent from the meeting. Municipal officials said Allison Ciranni, who was appointed Howell’s municipal clerk in January 2020, notified the governing body that due to personal reasons, she was unable to continue working as the municipal clerk. Independent News Briefs, March 3 Independent News Briefs, March 3 The Keyport Borough Council has authorized a final payment of $510,872 for a project to improve a local park. On Feb. 16, council members authorized the final payment and a close-out change order to V&K Construction Inc. for improvements to Main Street Park. The contract for the improvements was awarded to V&K Construction in 2019. Municipal officials said the improvements included the installation of skate park features, playground features, softball field work and fencing. The original contract was in the amount of $511,660 and the change order lowered the final payment to $510,872. The change order reflected increases and decreases in original contract quantities that were required to complete the project.

Monmouth County Clerk’s Office announces new county archivist Monmouth County Clerk’s Office announces new county archivist The Monmouth County Clerk’s Office has announced that Julia Telonidis of Ocean Township has joined the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office as the county’s new archivist. Telonidis succeeds long-time county archivist Gary D. Saretzky who retired in October 2019, according to a press release from Monmouth County. Telonidis has more than 20 years of archival and management experience, most recently at the Moore and Talbott Libraries of Rider University, Lawrenceville, where she served as archives specialist. In that capacity, she curated many archival exhibitions and processed archival collections. She is also experienced with the digitization of archival collections, according to the press release.
