Standing for life in a culture of death

Standing for life in a culture of death Thursday, April 15, 2021  |  Frank Wright, Ph.D. - Guest Columnist Wright There is little question that the darkness is getting darker. The real question is: What are we to do in a culture cloaked in the depths of darkness? The answer is to shine the light of Truth – for darkness is by definition the absence of light. I looked at my Death Clock today. That was a big mistake. Actually, I looked at one of the many websites that will use some basic information about you to calculate your average life expectancy. The good news is I have 225 million seconds to live. The bad news is that is only about seven years. So naturally, I looked for a second opinion. The next website says 20 years to go. Much better.

SPEAKING OF FAITH: Touch him, touch his heart - The Cherokee One Feather

SPEAKING OF FAITH: Touch him, touch his heart   (transcribed by Myra Colgate)   Read out loud, study, and meditate slowly over, John 6:48-69; asking Him to reveal His answers to any of the questions that come to mind.  Then, read 1 Corinthians 11:23-33.  Because Jesus got up again…He’s Coming Back Soon! THE WAY, THE PLAN Jesus was sent to all mankind by the agreement of God, the Father, Jesus, His Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Jesus was the only possible answer to mankind’s problem and dilemma.  He was to take our deserved punishment for sin, upon Himself, and suffer in His Body, all diseases, griefs and sorrows, too.  He was born into this Earth at the Word spoken by God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, unto Mary, the chosen young, virgin woman.  Jesus entered her life here through her sheltering womb as the Lamb of God was prepared (to be the perfect Sacrifice for all of us past, present and future).

Since God Saved Us, Do We Owe Him the Rest of Our Lives?

10 Apr If Jesus paid the penalty for my sin, if He died to free me, do I really need to live for Him now that I’m free? Do I owe God my life? “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:22-23). 1. If I’ve been set free, why am I a “slave of God?” 2. Is God’s gift of eternal life based on my holiness rather than simply on His sacrifice?

Library : Veneremur Cernui – Down in Adoration Falling

Description In Veneremur Cernui – Down in Adoration Falling, Bishop Thomas Olmsted of the Diocese of Phoenix recommends to the faithful daily Mass and more frequent Eucharistic adoration, and asks priests to lead an annual Eucharistic procession in their parishes. The bishop’s letter, promulgated on April 1, 2021, explains that the Church “requires Catholic leaders who have publicly supported gravely immoral laws such as abortion and euthanasia to refrain from receiving Holy Communion until they publicly repent and receive the Sacrament of Penance.” Publisher & Date Diocese of Phoenix, April 1, 2021 Apostolic Exhortation of The Most Reverend Thomas J. Olmsted, Bishop of Phoenix, to Priests, Deacons, Religious and the Lay Faithful of the Diocese of Phoenix on the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist

Library : The Saints Ceaselessly

Description Following the Easter celebrations, Pope Francis on April 7, 2021, continued his catechesis on Christian prayer during the General Audience, focusing this week on the Communion of Saints. He explained that whenever we pray, we are never alone, but find ourselves immersed in a great stream of past, present, and future intercession for the needs of individuals and of the whole world. Publisher & Date Dear brothers and sisters, good morning! Today, I would like to reflect on the connection between prayer and the communion of saints. In fact, when we pray, we never do so alone: even if we do not think about it, we are immersed in a majestic river of invocations that precedes us and proceeds after us. A majestic river.
