Wiltshire Council extends closing date of Additional Restrictions Grant for businesses to Monday

Coun Richard Clewer WILTSHIRE Council has received more than 800 applications from local businesses for the Additional Restrictions Grant to help them through the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. To encourage as many eligible businesses as possible to apply for this round of funding, the council has extended the cut-off date for new applications for the ARG, also known as Discretionary Payments, to 23:59 on Monday. The grant supports businesses impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic that are not covered by other grant schemes, such as the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) and the Christmas Support Payment (CSP). It is open for new applications only or for those who had previously applied before November 2020.

Fenland businesses reminded to apply for Covid grants  | Updated: 13:44, 04 February 2021 Fenland businesses which have been impacted by local and national Covid-19 restrictions are being reminded to check if they’re eligible for grant support. Fenland District Council is administering a range of Government business grant schemes via its website at: www.fenland.gov.uk/businessgrants – and is urging businesses to apply before the closing dates. Since the first lockdown last year, the council has distributed more than £24million in funding and made over 2,500 payments to businesses, with over £3million being paid out to businesses since the December restrictions came into force.

More than £50m paid out to Allerdale firms for support during coronavirus

More than £50m paid out to Allerdale firms for support during coronavirus 04/02/2021 Allerdale council has paid out over £13 million-worth of Government grants to firms to support them through the coronavirus pandemic. This is in addition to £37 million which the team paid out last summer which brings the total grant funding to Allerdale’s business community in response to the current pandemic to over £50m. The figure, which is for the period up to January 29, includes £2.9m to eligible businesses that have been told to close since January 5 as a result of the introduction of the national lockdown, and an additional £5.8m in a one-off payment to the retail, leisure and hospitality sector.

The grants available to East Devon businesses

There are a range of grants available for East Devon businesses - Credit: Contributed A new grant scheme for East Devon businesses affected by the local restrictions period between early December and early January has been launched this week.  East Devon District Council is also working to ensure that further financial support for businesses impacted by the current national lockdown is made available as soon as possible.   Businesses which could remain open but have been severely financially affected by Tier 2 and Tier 3 restrictions from December 2 to January 4 can now apply for Local Restrictions Support Grants.  Last week, the council’s cabinet approved the policies for new grant schemes covering January’s lockdown as well as the launch of a further round of the discretionary scheme – the Additional Restrictions Grant.
